Questions

Before you start.

Which hosted plan should I choose?

Standard is designed for most personal libraries, including a useful audiobook shelf. Pro is mainly for people with substantially larger audiobook or media archives, or heavier managed AI use. The core reading, note-taking, Brain, and Studio features are the same.

What happens if I reach my managed AI allowance?

Ask Nostos and voice transcription share one included monthly allowance. There are no automatic overage charges. When the included allowance is used, managed AI pauses until it renews or you add a prepaid refill when refills are available.

How does the free trial work?

Standard includes a 7-day free trial with a credit card required upfront and a smaller one-time managed AI allowance shared by Ask Nostos and voice transcription. Pro is billed immediately when you subscribe. You can cancel either plan at any time.

Can I move to self-hosted Nostos later?

Yes. Hosted Nostos supports full library and media export so you can take your data with you and move to a self-hosted installation. Self-hosting remains free under GPLv3.

Do you train AI models on my books or private writing?

No. Your uploaded library, notes, and writing are not used by Nostos to train public foundation models.
